About Ali Taha Alnobani

Ali Taha Alnobani is a Jordanian poet, novelist, short-story writer, and songwriter born in Jerash, Jordan, in 1968. His creative work spans poetry, fiction, drama, literary criticism, cultural writing, and, more recently, songwriting and AI-assisted music production.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from Yarmouk University and has been active in Jordanian literary and cultural life for several decades.

Literary Background

Alnobani is a member of the Jordan Writers Association and the General Union of Arab Writers. He has also been associated with the World Poets Movement and Seasons Association for Arts and Heritage Revival. He previously served as President of the Jordan Writers Association – Jerash Branch and as head of the Jerash Literary Forum.

His poems, short stories, essays, and cultural writings have appeared in Jordanian and Arab newspapers, magazines, books, and digital publications. His literary work has also been the subject of academic research and university studies concerned with style, alienation, poetic structure, titles, and language.

Venus’s Tears — An English-Language Novel

Published in October 2026, Venus’s Tears is an English-language novel by Ali Taha Alnobani. The book brings together two narratives set in the same Jordanian city across nearly two thousand years.

In modern Jerash, Waheeb struggles with personal loss, economic hardship, and the search for dignity. In the ancient world, Venus confronts the demands of imperial power while experiencing love, separation, and uncertainty.

Through these interconnected stories, the novel explores love, injustice, loss, resilience, and the enduring human longing for freedom.
